Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, the sensational and award-winning kid’s TV show is coming live to Moore Theater!
Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood made its debut in 2012 and is based on the Neighborhood of Make-Believe from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood (the 1963 TV series created and hosted by Fred Rogers). The main character of the series is Daniel Tiger (son of the original Daniel Striped Tiger on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood). Accompanying him are children of other characters from the Neighborhood of Make-Believe; Katerina Kittycat (daughter of Henrietta Pussycat), Miss Elaina (daughter of Lady Elaine Fairchild and Music Man Stan), O the Owl (nephew of X the Owl), and Prince Wednesday (King Friday and Queen Sara Saturday's youngest son and Prince Tuesday's little brother). Each episode contains 2 11-minute segments that use a common emotional theme (such as disappointment, sadness, anger, or being thankful and appreciative) to teach kids life lessons. The theme is also reinforced by music (called “strategy songs”) to help them remember those lessons. The songs are also available as albums or singles with Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood as the artist name. The program has received numerous accolades in children's broadcasting. It’s won 2 Silver Parents' Choice Awards, was nominated for 2 Television Critics' Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming, and was also a Prix Jeunesse International Selection.
