Dave Attell was born in Brookly in 1965 is a comedian, actor, and writer. He began his journey in comedy in 1987 by performing at open mic nights in clubs all over New York while working menial jobs during the day. His comedic style can be best described as a blend of blue comedy, insult comedy, black comedy, and he jokes about a variety of topics including American culture, everyday life, sex, recreational drug use, self deprecation, current events, and religion. He honed his craft for many years and his breakthrough came in 1993 when performed on The Late Show with David Letterman. His routine was seen by Lorne Michaels (creator of Saturday Night Live) who then hired him to be a writer (and occasional performer) on SNL. He went on to have a stellar career with 8 comedy albums and he’s starred in many films such as Los Enchiladas!, The Office Party, Pootie Tang, My Suicidal Sweetheart, Abby Singer, Scary Movie 4, Harold, Funny People, Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra-Doo, and Trainwreck. He’s best known as the host of the Comedy Central TV show Insomniac with Dave Attell and renowned comedians Patton Oswalt and Bill Burr have named him as the greatest off-color comedian alive.
