Ludovico Einaudi, Italy’s sensational classical artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Moore Theater!
Ludovico Maria Enrico Einaudi was born in Turin (Piedmont, Italy) in 1995 and is a pianist and composer. In 1982, he joined the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan and he also studied under Luciano Berio, one of the most important composers of the twentieth century avant-garde. While his musical style can be broadly classified as contemporary classical (a genre that started in the mid 1970s to early 1990s and includes modernist, postmodern, neoromantic, and pluralist music), it also includes elements of and pop, rock, world music, folk, and new age (a style intended to create artistic inspiration, relaxation, and optimism, and includes both acoustic elements such as flutes, piano, acoustic guitar and a wide variety of non-Western acoustic instruments, and electronic forms, frequently relying on sustained synth pads or long sequencer based runs). He’s had a stellar career with 13 studio albums and he’s also composed the scores for many films (including This Is England, The Intouchables, and I'm Still Here), TV shows (Doctor Zhivago, and Acquario), and commercials. He’s received many accolades including a Grolla d'oro (one Italy’s earliest film awards) and a ‘Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana’ (the senior order of Knighthood bestowed by the Italian Republic).
Don’t miss your chance to see the artist who melds the old and new in terms of style and instruments, creating a contemporary, post classical sound!
