Snarky Puppy, Texas’ sensational jazz fusion artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Moore Theater!
Snarky Puppy was formed in Denton (Texas) in 2004 by bassist, composer, and music producer Michael League. The line up consists of a rotating membership of about 40 musicians with Michael (the only constant member) at the helm. The current line up is Robert "Sput" Searight (drums), Larnell Lewis (drums), Jason "J T" Thomas (drums), Nate Werth (percussion), Marcelo Woloski (percussion), Keita Ogawa (percussion), Bobby Sparks (keyboards), Caleb Sean (keyboards), Shaun Martin (keyboards), Cory Henry (keyboards and organ), Bill Laurance (keyboards), Chris McQueen (guitar and baritone guitar), Bob Lanzetti (guitar), Mark Lettieri (guitar and slide guitar), Michael League (electric bass, keyboard bass, and baritone guitar), Justin Stanton (trumpet, flugelhorn, and keyboards), Mike "Maz" Maher (trumpet and flugelhorn), Jay Jennings (trumpet and flugelhorn), Andy Hunter (trombone), Chris Bullock (tenor saxophone, flute, clarinet, and bass clarinet), and Bob Reynolds (tenor saxophone). Their musical style is best described as jazz fusion (a genre that developed in the late 1960s when musicians combined aspects of jazz harmony and improvisation with styles such as funk, rock, rhythm and blues, and Latin jazz). They’ve had a stellar career with 11 studio albums and they’ve received many accolades including 3 Grammy Awards (for Best R&B Performance and 2 for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album).
