St. Vincent, Oklahoma’s sensational indie rock artist is bringing her signature sounds to the Moore Theater!
St. Vincent (birth name Anne Erin "Annie" Clark) was born in Tulsa in 1982 and is a singer, songwriter, record producer, and multi instrumentalist (guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, and synthesizer). Her musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegazing), art rock (a subgenre of rock music that generally reflects a challenging or avant-garde approach to rock, and is often distinguished by the use of electronic effects and easy listening textures far removed from the propulsive rhythms of early rock), and chamber pop (a subgenre of indie rock that developed in the mid 1990s as a reaction against the fuzz distortion and lo fi aesthetic prominent in alternative music). She’s had a stellar career with 5 studio albums, 4 extended plays, 14 singles, and her music has been featured in many films (The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Gangster Squad, and A Bigger Splash) and on the TV show Boardwalk Empire.
